new Coalfields Folklife Festival

in Grundy weekend of June 6th.
Basically nothin' for the young'uns.
First-year deal, so we don't expect a huge turnout.

Coalfields Folk Life Festival

brochures are being set out at county businesses (mainly sit-and-wait places like small stores, beauty shops, auto shops, etc.) and at the library.

Id drive to Grundy to see Goose Creek Symphony. Music is a good draw. No midnight Ramblers. Nothing against them. Matter of fact Id ride a cow from Pound to Grundy if you got Dave Evans and Goose Creek on the same night.

we had GCS a few years ago at the county fair and had a good draw. I'll pass that along.

Heard on radio today they are gonn abe at the Wise fair. Be the best music they have had in years.

I misspoke slightly ... there ARE activities for the youngins at the library, but no carnival rides.

Enoch's Branch road suffered some damage due to the recent heavy rains, so ALL events that were scheduled for Enoch's Branch have been MOVED to Poplar Gap Park (accessable via Poplar Creek, Little Prater or Lovers Gap).
